Information we collect
Newsletter subscriptions. When you subscribe, we collect your email address, any optional first name you provide, and your email-marketing preferences. Our newsletter provider may also record signup details, such as the date, time, IP address, and confirmation status, to administer subscriptions and maintain consent records.
Messages to us. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include in your message.
Basic website information. As with most websites, our hosting provider may collect technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, request times, and pages requested to deliver the website, maintain security, and troubleshoot problems.
How we use information
We use the information described above to send newsletter subscribers announcements about books, releases, and publishing news; answer messages and requests; maintain subscriptions and consent preferences; and operate, protect, and improve the website.
We send marketing emails to people who have subscribed or otherwise given us appropriate permission. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in any newsletter or by contacting us.
Mailchimp and service providers
Our newsletter signup is processed by Mailchimp, which stores and processes subscriber information on our behalf. Depending on our email settings, Mailchimp may provide delivery and engagement information, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. You can review Mailchimp's privacy statement for more about its practices.
We also use website hosting and related technical service providers. We share personal information with service providers as needed to operate the website and newsletter, or when required by applicable law. We do not sell or rent newsletter subscribers' names or email addresses.
Cookies and similar technologies
The current L&L Literary Services website does not have an online shopping cart or intentionally include advertising pixels or a third-party analytics script. Our hosting provider may use technical measures to operate and secure the site. Third-party websites you visit through our links may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.
If we add analytics, advertising tracking, or other cookie-based features, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.
Links to bookstores and other sites
Our book pages link to outside retailers, universal book links, and author websites. We do not control their collection or use of information. Please review their privacy policies when you leave our website.
Keeping information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect information in our care and use service providers to support secure operations. No website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
How long we keep information
We retain newsletter information while your subscription is active and for as long as reasonably needed to administer requests, maintain appropriate unsubscribe or consent records, or meet legal obligations. Contact messages may be retained as needed to respond and maintain business records.
Your choices and requests
You can unsubscribe through any newsletter. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law and any records we must retain. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply.
